Performance and Capabilities

Halfway through this model year, the Nissan LEAF Plus debuted, offering more power and a longer driving range. For the regular LEAF, which you'll most likely find here near Gastonia and Hickory, you'll have a 150-mile range on a full charge. For charging your LEAF's battery pack, you can either install a special power outlet at home, utilize the increasingly available charging stations around the Charlotte area, or be a little more patient with a longer charging time from a regular, household outlet. The base electric motor of the LEAF produces 147 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque, while the LEAF Plus, when available, will bump up your performance considerably.

Safety and Technology

Beyond the innovative technology that goes into the electric powertrain of the new 2019 LEAF, there's loads of helpful Nissan features that will guide you safely around the Matthews, Mooresville and Statesville areas of North Carolina. For driver aids, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking is standard in the 2019 LEAF, while higher trims add blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and the Nissan ProPILOT Assist system, which leads to adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping functions and more. For infotainment, you'll start off with Bluetooth and other connectivity functions, with higher trims adding smartphone integration, a touchscreen command center and more.
