See if the 2018 Nissan Altima is the Right New Sedan for You in the Lake Norman and Charlotte Area

For last year's 2017 edition, we noted that the stellar Altima - found at our Nissan dealer serving Lake Norman, Charlotte and Concord, NC - hadn't changed much, sticking to what's been working for years. That's largely the same idea behind the new 2018 Nissan Altima, which does receive some updates in tech offerings and how trim levels are organized, but basically sticks to what works.

For an efficient midsized sedan with plenty of great tech options and a lot of interior room, the new 2018 Altima is a great choice. See what's new, learn more about the powertrain options and explore the safety and tech features before coming over today.

What's New in the 2018 Nissan Altima?

As we've already mentioned, the new 2018 Altima, now here at our Nissan dealer serving Gastonia, Statesville, Hickory, Mooresville and Matthews, doesn't have any huge changes, maintaining the same body design and engine options. New additions include optional Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and the special option packages have been shuffled around to make more sense. We'll get into technology and safety features down below.

2018 Nissan Altima Performance Near Lake Norman, NC

Once again, the Altima is equipped standard with a reasonable 2.5-liter four-cylinder, giving you 179 horsepower, and up to 39 mpg on the highway, one of the top figures for midsized sedans in non-hybrid setups.

If you're willing to cut back on this excellent fuel efficiency a little bit, the optional 3.5-liter V-6 unleashes 270 horsepower of smooth and capable performance, while still offering up to 32 mpg on the highway, a still reasonable figure for an engine this powerful.

2018 Nissan Altima Safety and Technology Near Charlotte, NC

The starting package of the new Altima comes generously equipped with Bluetooth, a USB port, keyless entry and ignition and a rearview camera. A forward collision warning system with automatic emergency braking is also standard, setting you up nicely with some strong safety features right from the get-go. Options for infotainment include a touchscreen with the smartphone integration apps we mentioned above, navigation, and an auto-dimming mirror. For safety, you can add adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
